Checking equipment in at another location

Manage Items and Kits that are checked out at one location but checked in at another

Equipment often moves between locations. For example: you check out 3 monitors from your warehouse, but decide you want to keep them at your headquarters.

Configuration

Allow check in at another location

  • Navigate to Settings and click Add-ons

  • Scroll down to Check-outs and click Settings

  • Toggle Allow check-in at other location?  and click Save

During Check-outs

Checking in across locations

  • Click Check-outs, then click an open Check-out

  • Use the checkboxes to select the equipment that you are checking back in. If you would like to check in all of the equipment, select the Item check box.

  • Next, click the drop down arrow next to Check in. Here we can see that the item was checked out at 3rd Street Office, however we are checking the item in at Seattle, WA.

  • Once the item(s) are checked back in, a green Checked In box will auto populate with the location of the item(s) showing on the left hand side.

Tip: If you want items to end up in a different sublocation than where they were before, check them in at the correct parent location first, then update each item’s sublocation.

⚠️ Warning: Locked Kits with items in multiple locations will require an admin’s permission to reserve or check-out.

When checking items from a locked kit into a new location, consider either:

  1. checking the whole locked kit into the new location
  2. removing the moved item from the locked kit
