Consuming Bulk Items Within a Kit
How to mark bulk items in kits as "consumed"
When a consumable bulk item is part of a kit, you can't mark it as consumed directly from the booking. Instead, you'll need to use a simple workaround to ensure your inventory count stays accurate.
Here is the best way to handle this workflow:
- Check in the full kit: Complete the check-in process for the entire kit as you normally would. Do not try to adjust the bulk item quantity at this stage.
- Comment on the kit: Add a comment to the kit's booking history. This is helpful for the next person to know that the bulk item may not actually be present in the kit. For example, you might write: "Used 5 rolls of gaff tape from this kit. Double check that you have the tape you need before next checkout!"
- Adjust the bulk item quantity: After checking in the kit, go to the item details page for the specific bulk item. From here, you can manually reduce the quantity to reflect what was used. This ensures your inventory is up-to-date for future bookings.
By following these steps, you can accurately track your consumable bulk items even when they are part of a larger kit. We are working to make this process more streamlined in the future.
