Feature Release - Bulk Items in Kit Beta

Beta Release: Bulk Items in Kits

We're excited to announce the beta launch of our new Bulk Items in Kits feature! This highly requested functionality allows you to add items tracked to bulk to your kits to ensure kit completeness and readiness.

Adding Bulk Items to Kits

Bulk items can be added to kits from the item overview, item detail or kit management page. Anywhere you can add individual items to a kit, bulk items can also be added.

From Kits Management:

  1. Navigate to the Kits tab in your Cheqroom account
  2. Select the kit you want to add bulk items to (or create a new kit)
  3. Click on the "Add Items" button in the kit detail view
  4. In the item selection modal, you'll now see both individual and bulk items displayed
  5. Select the bulk items you want to add to your kit
  6. For each bulk item, specify the required quantity needed for the kit
  7. Click "Add Items" to add the selected bulk items to your kit

From Item Detail:

  1. Go to the item detail page of the bulk item you want to add to a kit
  2. Click on the "Add to Kit" button in the action menu
  3. In the kit selection modal, choose the kit(s) you want to add this bulk item to
  4. Specify the quantity of this bulk item required for the kit
  5. Click "Add to Kit”

Note: There is a new “Kits” tab within Bulk Item detail that will display information on all the kits a bulk item is part of. Bulk items can also be added to kits directly from this tab.

Once added, bulk items will appear alongside individual items in your kit item list, helping you maintain complete visibility of all components required for your kit to be considered complete and ready for use.

Using Bulk Items in Kits in a Reservation or Check-out

When reserving or checking out a kit that contains bulk items, the process is similar to regular kits but with additional considerations for bulk inventory:

  1. Navigate to the Reservations or Check-out tab and click "New reservation" or “New check-out”
  2. Click “Add items or kits” and select desired kit(s)
  3. The system will check if sufficient quantities of all bulk items are available for the reservation or check-out period
  4. Proceed with your reservation or check-out as normal - the required quantities of bulk items will be allocated to your reservation

Note: Unlike individual items, bulk items are not uniquely identified within the kit. The system only tracks the required quantity, not specific instances of the bulk item.
