Feature Release - January Roundup
We are excited to announce our January feature roundup, bringing you a collection of powerful updates designed to enhance your Cheqroom experience.
Location Details
Location Details enables precise, multi-level locations so your team always knows exactly where items live and where to return them.
Now you can:
- Define a primary location plus up to four sub-levels that mirror your real-world spaces
- Give every item a precise home address, from building to shelf (e.g., Campus → Building B → Floor 3 → Closet 2 → Bin A)
- Eliminate messy workarounds with notes and custom fields
- Provide crystal-clear pickup and return instructions for your team
Eligibility
This feature is available to Cheqroom customers on Business and Enterprise plans
Please Note:
- Operational actions like moving items, global filtering, and check-ins remain at the primary location level
- Sub-locations in this initial version are informational only
- The system supports a maximum of 5 levels (1 primary + 4 sub-locations)

Administrators can configure Location Details by navigating to Settings → Locations. Create or edit a primary location and add up to four sub-location levels.

Booking Restrictions by Location
Booking Restrictions by Location let you apply different restrictions to each location based on its unique needs.
You can now customize these settings for each location:
- Day-based or time-based booking slots
- For time-based bookings, the time interval between slots
- Capacity limits for how many bookings each slot can accept
- Minimum and maximum advance booking times
- Minimum and maximum reservation and check-out durations

This feature is available to all customers with multiple locations + booking settings

Administrators can configure Location level booking restrictions by navigating to Settings → Locations and selecting ‘Edit’ from the Actions menu.

Edit Live Bookings
Edit Live Bookings lets you fix mistakes on active reservations and check-outs without breaking your flow or losing track of inventory.
Now you can:
- Add or remove items, update fields or correct information while preserving original dates
- Maintain a clean audit trail with all changes logged in booking history
- Reduce duplicate bookings and keep reports accurate
Eligibility
This feature is available to all Cheqroom customers. Editing permissions are controlled by system roles (admin/owner by default).
Please Note:
- Items added or removed mid-booking will display as if they were always included or never included in the original booking
- Check-out and check-in dates remain the same for all items in a check-out
- Not currently available on mobile
- Edits are manual only (not available through bulk import)
Get Started!
Open any active reservation or check-out and click Edit → Actions → Enable Past Dates to make changes. All edits are automatically logged in the booking history.

New UX/UI for Overviews
And finally, we’re bringing the new UX/UI for the Items Overview to general release. Previously in beta, we’re bringing all customers a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive experience across your Overview pages.
