Managing Time Zones in Cheqroom: Guidance for Canadian Users
What's changing on November 1, 2026
B.C. already moved to permanent Pacific Time on March 8, 2026. On November 1, other regions follow suit while the rest of the country turns clocks back one hour.

The practical effect is that the gap between regions shrinks. Starting November 1, B.C. is two hours behind Toronto (it was three), and Alberta is one hour behind Toronto (it was two). If your team, customers or equipment are spread across provinces, double-check any booking that crosses a provincial border.
Step 1: Confirm your browser time zone and locationYour browser takes its time zone from your computer or phone, so check the device first. Do this before November 1 and again after it.
- Open your device's date and time settings:
- Windows: Settings > Time & language > Date & time
- macOS: System Settings > General > Date & Time
- iPhone or iPad: Settings > General > Date & Time
- Android: Settings > System > Date & time
- Turn on the option to set the time zone automatically. If you turn it off or can't use it, choose a city in your own province, not just a matching time zone name.
- Confirm the city matches where you are working.
- Install any pending operating system and browser updates. Devices that haven't received the new time rules may still turn their clocks back on November 1.
If you changed your device's time zone, reload Cheqroom (or sign out and back in) so it picks up the new setting. Then open a booking you know well and confirm the start and end times match what you expect on your wall clock.
Step 3: Confirm bookings made in a different time zoneA booking made while your browser was set to another time zone can show a different clock time than you intended. This can happen if you travelled, used a device with the wrong location, or work with colleagues in another province.
- Review your upcoming bookings, starting with anything scheduled on or after November 1.
- For each booking you created or edited while in a different time zone, confirm the start and end times are what you meant, and what the borrower or your team expects.
- If a time is wrong, first make sure your browser time zone is correct (Step 1), then edit the booking to the correct time and save it.
Bookings scheduled for dates after November 1 deserve the closest look: if they were created before your region's rules were updated, the displayed time could differ by an hour from the time you originally chose.
Need help?If a booking still looks wrong after you've checked your browser time zone, contact Cheqroom Support. Include the booking name or ID, the time you intended, the time Cheqroom shows, your province, and the time zone your browser reports.
