Why Some Email Domains Are Not Accepted in Cheqroom

Cheqroom does not accept registrations or team invitations from certain email domains. If you or a colleague received an error message when signing up or accepting an invite, the email domain may be on our blocked list.

This article explains why we restrict certain domains and what you can do about it.

Why does Cheqroom block some email domains?

To protect our platform and all users on it, Cheqroom automatically blocks two categories of email domains:

1. Disposable and temporary email services

These are services that generate short-lived, throwaway email addresses — often used to bypass account verification, sign up for trials multiple times, or obscure someone's identity. Examples include services like Mailinator, 10 Minute Mail, and thousands of similar providers.

We do not allow these domains because they make it impossible to:

  • Verify that a real person is behind an account
  • Recover access to an account if something goes wrong
  • Hold accounts to our Terms of Service

2. Specific domains flagged for abuse

In addition to the broader disposable email blocklist, certain domains are explicitly blocked due to a history of spam, fraudulent activity, or policy violations on our platform. qq.com is one such domain and is not accepted for account registration or team invitations.

What happens if a blocked domain is used?

  • Team invitation: The invitation will fail to send, and the invitee will not receive an email.
  • Add a Non-Workspace User: The email address will be blocked by our system.

What should I do if my email was blocked?

If you're trying to sign up or be invited:
Use a permanent, professional email address — such as a work or school email — instead of a disposable or personal email service.

If you're an admin inviting a teammate:
Ask your teammate to provide a different email address (e.g., their work email) and resend the invitation to that address.

If you believe your domain was blocked in error:
Contact our support team at support@cheqroom.com with your email domain and a description of your use case. Our team can review and escalate if appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

Why is qq.com specifically blocked?
qq.com is a large consumer email provider that has been associated with elevated levels of fraudulent and abusive account activity on our platform. To protect our users and maintain platform integrity, we do not accept qq.com addresses for new accounts or invitations.

Can my company get its domain unblocked?
If your organization uses a legitimate custom domain that was incorrectly flagged, please reach out to support. We're happy to review it. Note that we are unable to unblock known disposable email providers or domains flagged for abuse.

I have a qq.com email but I'm a legitimate user — what are my options?
We recommend signing up with a work, school, or alternative permanent email address. Unfortunately, we're unable to make exceptions for qq.com at this time.
