How do Approvals work in Cheqroom?

Approvals in Cheqroom add a review step to reservation requests, so requests that meet your agreed rules can be checked by the right approver before they move forward. Instead of coordinating approvals in email or spreadsheets, your team can manage the request and its decision right in Cheqroom.

How it works

  1. Request. A user submits a reservation. Cheqroom blocks conflicts and checks it against your rules and if the reservation matches the approval setup for your workspace, it is routed for review.
  2. Review. If the reservation needs approval, the right approver gets notified. They approve, deny, or comment. Denied reservations go back to the requester to fix. Every decision is tracked.
  3. Record. Approved reservations move to check-out.

Requesters can check a reservation's approval status in Cheqroom at any time.

Rules that match how you work. Some common Approvals -

  • Route by value. Send high-value requests for review.
  • Route by team. Send requests to the approver who owns them, like the instructor for a class or manager of a department.
  • Route by item. Require sign-off for specific gear, using a category, purchase price, or custom field.
  • Add a second review. Pass approved requests to another approval step.
  • Skip review. Let admins and trusted groups book directly.

Approvals are now available through the Approvals Beta Group for customers on Business Admin or Enterprise Admin plans. During the beta, Cheqroom sets up and tests your workflow with you. Spots are limited.

Request access by November 6 on the request form that was provided to you via email.
